Tea anyone? Felt teacup and saucer!

I’ve been steadily working on this little wee set, as a tension breaker from my other sewing projects. I always need something to fiddle with and do, even if watching a movie or t.v. show, so this filled that need to a T! I saw a similar tea set in a book at JoAnne Fabrics, for children’s toys. Being the cheapo that I am….and my family can attest to this (!!!) I figured I could make a go of this by myself, so here’s the first step! I am still working on the details for the teapot….not sure if I want it a simply cylinder, or do I want to make a fancier globe shaped pot? Do I want the lid to be removeable so little ladies and their guests can play a little more realistically? Hmmm…guess we’ll see! I want to make some felt silverware as well, so that’s probably next on my craft block. These were fun to make though. Lily and Sammy already want to play with them and there’s only one set!! I even got a “That’s really cool” out of my husband!! wow, amazing!

Bunch o’ contours!

I really don’t know how the diaper sewing mama’s do it! I am just not loving sewing diapers (as stated in a prior post!!). This fabric was extremely stretchy….could be I’m just not used to working with fabric this stretchy, but alas I am done! I am sending these along with a few fingertip wipes that I was able to scrounge from the leftovers. These dipes (8 in all) were created using organic baby blankets sent to me by the mama. Hopefully they’ll give great service to the tush they will cover!

Just thought I’d post that….

I really dislike sewing diapers! There are just sooo many stupid layers to these things! I think I’ll stick primarily to sewing woolies, at least with these you don’t have to contend with a gazillion and twenty-five layers to cut and sew down! arrrrghhhh!!!

(will post pics later, just needed to vent this frustration!!)

ok, back to my sewing machines.

The footies are here!

I found a gal on a diapering board, looking for the coveted footed recycled longies. Well….since I’d made them in the past way before they became the rage (oh how I could kick myself in the tuckus for not hopping on THAT wagon way before it left the station!), I offered to make her a pair. These are the result! I have another pair of NB leotard type longies waiting to be sewn up next, really skinny legs but they are sooooooo (not enough o’s) soft!!!! My oldest daughter gets jealous when I make a pair of longies or soakers as soft as these are. She demands a pair of big girl undies made out of cashmere (insert big huge laughing SNORT from her mama, AS IF!). Anywho, I hope the mama enjoys her wee footed longies and that they keep teeny tosies warm this winter!!

Anyone for another needle felted wool soaker??

Just got these done about 20 minutes ago and I LOVE THEM! Ok, so that’s probably a little more self-appreciative than I need to be, but I really wish Eden could wear these. They are very soft and so stretchy! Plus I love the butterfly on the bum! what was supposed to be a flower turned into a really cute butterfly!

Previews are up at Buddha Bellies!

For those in search of woolies, I’ve posted several previews of plain and embroidered wool jersey soakers, a recycled wool soaker (featured here on my blog and offered at auction!!) and several longies. I will be adding several other recycled wool longies throughout the week and possibly some recycled wool soakers as well.  Come on and check them out at Fuzzy Britches at Buddha Bellies Congo stocking at Thursday at 6pm!

Just zinging along!

I’m just zinging along lately! I got the last soaker done for my trade, and cut out and sewed up three longies….wait, four longies, tonight. One is a custom, the other’s I am hoping to get stocked at Buddha Bellies this Thursday at 6pm.  Anyway, this is Brother Bear for the LO that will be wearing them. Mama seems to be happy, I just hope he enjoys them too!  Needle felted applique on recycled wool soaker.
