Previews up! Small footed and embroidered longies!

These are just too cute if I do say so myself! I wish my LO was small enough to wear these! They have embroidery at the toes and both interlock toe and waistband. They are previewing over at Bella Tesori Congo until Thursday at 1pm when they will become available for purchase. Pricing reflects my overall reduction in pricing for my participation in the WAHM Stimulus Package.

Cupcakes anyone?? Previews!

Just got done with the feet on these large footed longies, featuring cupcake appliques on the toes and suede cupcake applique sole patches on the bottom so your little girl will be safe!  They will soon feature a wool interlock waistband to go along with the wool interlock feet that the applique is sitched to.  These longies are SUPER soft and stretchy and will make any little lady the talk of the town with her soon to be matching accessories!  These footed recycled longies will be in a collaboration with a couple of other very talented WAHM’s on Bella Tesori (www.hyenacart.com/BellaTesori) on December 1, 2008.  Keep this date bookmarked if you’re looking for a wonderful girly outfit for your cloth diapered girl!

What a cool concept!

Here I am, plugging away on my craft blog when I realize I am having a TON of hits! Where oh where are they coming from? I excitedly ask myself!  http://alphainventions.com/ links recent posts of blogs so that people can view them as they randomly view pages.  Pretty cool!

Custom footed longies and embroidered soaker

Here’s two out of the five items I’m working on for a gal. One pair of footed recycled wool longies with a needle felted applique on each toe. Then an embroidered recycled wool soaker. These are both a great weight and will be superb for night time cloth diapering! Oh and NO the longies aren’t crooked, I was trying to take pictures with a 1 yo little girl on my hip so I didn’t arrange them as neatly as I could have or should have!

WAHM Stimulus Package – available 12/1/08

I’ve decided to participate in the WAHM Stimulus Package that many WAHM’s are making available to help out our customer base during our nationwide economy slump.  Effective December 1, 2008, I will be reducing my pricing by 20%, will only use the remaining fabrics that I have onhand for creation of instock items, will accept custom orders only with the understanding that I must use current fabric on hand ( no buying new materials! ) and will encourage the use of customer’s recycled fabrics to create their items (i.e. Your Sweater, My Machine slots – YSMM; or Your Yarn My Hook slots – YYMH) which will help in the overall reduction of money spent  The temporary reduction in pricing will affect both instock, custom, YYMH and YSMM slots alike.  Please spread the word to those who may be interested in learning about cloth diapering but are afraid of the initial investment.  This is a great opportunity to save money while building your stash!

Just a quick tester dipe for one of the DSD WAHM’s

I was lucky enough to snag a testing spot for one of the talented WAHM’s on the Diaper Sewing Diva’s forum, the Super Front Snap diaper made by the same WAHMama that created the Hippy Hippy Snap pattern (another pattern I want but know I don’t need!). I kind of fudged it a little as I was really hurrying and my machine apparently needs a tune up as it was throwing up thread at me at every turn. I made this more as a shell for a prefold than a fitted. Nevertheless it is a great pattern and very trim! Here it is on my unhappy tot, who let me know she was very unhappy about having her photo taken!

Appliques-R-Us!

Here’s what I’ve been crafting lately! A few hand sketched and hand machine guided appliques for a lovely WAHM I’ve been working with, Rebekah of Stewie’s on The Merchant Ship Congo (link over to the right!). These great T’s were dyed by her and then appliqued by moi! All of these appliques are of my own design, fairly simple perhaps, then hand guided on my regular sewing machine. No embroidery machine involved here! These are definitely more work from sketch to finish, than a standard embroidery is. Not that there’s anything wrong with an embroidery, as you will see at the bottom. I am including this very cute chicken embroidered shirt with the appliqued shirts. My family calls this a Churkey – some of us say it’s a chicken, some of us insist it’s a turkey!
